The James R. & Anita Horne Jenkins Family Foundation is a private foundation dedicated to supporting work in underserved and diverse communities, primarily in Michigan, Illinois, Iowa, and Tennessee. We are especially committed to improving the health, welfare, and educational or otherwise positive development of people of color, people with disabilities, and veterans.

    Key Issues:

    * education and literacy;
    * veteran support;
    * disaster/emergency relief;
    * organizational viability and capacity building;
    * faith-based community outreach;
    * arts and culture.

      Grants

      Our grantmaking process primarily focuses on our rapid response application cycle. (click here)
      It is contemplated the next grant application cycle will open on
      January 1st, 2019, and close on February 28th, 2019*.

      We accept applications from organizations in our target geographic areas, including:

      Michigan:
      — Great Lakes Bay Region (incl. Isabella County),
      — Washtenaw County.

      Illinois/Iowa:
      — Greater Chicago Area,
      — Lake County,
      — Quad Cities.

      Tennessee:
      — Greater Memphis Area,
      — Western Tennessee (incl. Jackson).
